How horrible. A Deaf woman and her two kids were killed, allegedly by her common law husband in Trinidad area, which borders the campus of Gallaudet University. The murders were suspected to result from domestic violence. I have no idea if the slain victim, Erika Peters, was an alumnus of Gallaudet or MSSD. Deaf Woman and Her Two Kids Killed [...]

Reviewing what I covered last year, I was staggered by the sheer volume of the blogs produced, especially in the first half of the year. I eventually gave up adding topics after a while, so this list will suffice for now. Overall, this should give you a better idea what topics were explored. Covering the trial [...]

Commentary: The mother of Darlene, Dee VanderGiesen, leaves me humbled with her spiritual capacity for forgiving. At the death penalty sentencing, she spoke to Daphne Wright, telling her she is forgiven. When the life sentence was announced, Dee smiled slightly. Then she wrote a letter to editor, expressing appreciation for all who was involved in the case, including the [...]

Pity Deaf Card ? Jurors admitted that Wright’s deafness played a role. How much? We will never  know, but from what I’ve underearthed so far, it appears to play a very significant role. Prosecutor: The jurors were reportedly informed of just one previous crime committed by Daphne, when, in reality, her criminal record file was already thick, alleged by one reliable [...]
