FLash! Yehs Plead Not Guilty
The news we have been waiting to hear:
Viable executives arraigned
Deaf-services company’s president, others plead not guilty to charges
John T.C. Yeh, president of Rockville deaf-services company Viable, along with three other company executives, pleaded not guilty Monday in a New Jersey federal court to charges that include conspiracy to defraud the government.
A jury trial is scheduled for Feb. 22, with pretrial motions due Jan. 11, according to court documents. A motion hearing is slated for Feb. 8. To read the full article, click on Viable executives arraigned
Commentary: I expected that as it is the standard procedure not to plead guilty and let themselves be tried by their juries or get plea bargaining later on. MZ

Any news on the others?
This will never see a jury 70% of all cases plea out

Defendants often use “not guilty” anyway. I thought it was occurred in Maryland.

No, Dino, it’s a federal case, handled by FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation.) So any federal cases can be tried in any states.
So Mishka, we will see how it will play out in a few months. Still, it’s a sad chapter for us.

Monies distributed to VRS from FCC is done by NECA. NECA is located in New Jersey. Therefore, trial will be in NJ.

Nope, since those VRS providers received reimbursements from NECA, which is headquartered in New Jersey, the court is in their state, not elsewhere. All 26 indicted people will have to appear at NJ at their costs.

Would anyone know who, as a lawyer, defends John Yeh? Is the lawyer deaf?

Thanks Karen Mayes. Even if he is guilty or not, John Yeh’s reputation is ruined and of course many others as well. The court will probably take a year or two (or even longer) because it depends on the interpreter(s) availability.
As a witness of the DUI case (incident in May 2008- nearly hit the man on sidewalk avoiding hit me behind at the crosswalk), It has been a year and half now. I am summoned to the court in February ’10. Within 1 year an half, a several times, the interpreter was not available and blah blah. The 55 or 60 years old defendant would’ve pleaded and accepts the probation (strongly recommended by her lawyer and the prosecutor) She refuses. It is likely the woman will go to jail in February because of her history. (Only if the interpreter is available). Can’t wait to get over with this.

Of the two brothers, i.e., Joseph and John Yeh, Joseph is reputed to be the “Dragon” and within their culture, that means he’s the dominant sibling.
I’m guessing John may have to enter a guilty plea plus testify against his brother to get the best possible outcome for himself and his wife.

John has a Deaf brother? I did not know about this.

Lawyers for Yeh mentioned include Paul Kemp and John Pierce. Not sure about their hearing status, but unlikely. Big cases like this means money and exposure for the bloodsuckers…er…lawyers involved, so paying for a terp would not be a hardship in this instance. Sources: Fookem and Bug, and The Washington Post.

The truth to the matter about John Yeh. He s a pathological liar, who always have an excuse. Everyone admitted they were under the scam of Yeh. He deserve more time for wasting the tax payers money. He deserve to lose everything. I personally think the FCC need to run this industry cuz they will continue to lie and steal from the fcc. If you make all interpreters Federal employees. I will guarantee there won’t be any abusive practice. Make sure you send Joshua and Irma with John Yeh to prision.

Do you know where Yosbel Buscaron will go prison if he goes?

When they are going to put Mr. Yeh and DHIS in jail. I don’t understand how these greedy pigs get so much time to put off the case. I want to see justice. They need to serve the time for their crime. DHIS should be ban to serve the deaf community and get any state and federal government contract in the near future.

What about David Simmons, an employee of Mascom LLC’s result? Anyone tracks on his status?

John Yeh forget one big thing – he loves his wife and his children. They will lose him if he receives the sentencing 10 years or more.
It is not similar to Martha Stewart’s case and her federal prison time.
Everyone hopes his sentencing time will reduce
than 20 years max federal prison time.
