Former Students’ Planned Attack on VSDB Foiled
I wasn’t planning to blog again today since it’s New Year Eve until I received this alert. So I am taking a break to report this before going back to my celebrations.
Two students expelled from Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind were planning an attack on the school. Other students who heard the rumors of the plot alerted the school authorities, avoiding a potential tragedy. They were allegedly plotting to hurt and possibly kill students and staff at a specific dorm. These teens are currently facing murder conspiracy charges.

Here is to a new year, more empowered and enlightened than before. May the Deaf Community have a better harmony with more tolerance to the diversity within the D/deaf people.

I cannot beleive how can student do that in Deaf School. Amusing about being attempted attack for no reason?
Honesty, I was attacked by few girl from back in 1980 before few hours to graduation. They tried to attempted. Dean of Student never called Police. I realized they are tried to kill me and beleive that I did not realized until I read it and feel that way.
I had to shut my mouth for long time. Something that I decide to choose better Life put me away from Oregon. Forgot about nearly 30 years ago.

That was where I graduated at VSDB. To tell you the truth that VSDB refused to change since 1980! some houseparents are uneducated and knows NOTHING deaf culture and treats kids like they are low and mental retards. Dean of houseparents Mary Murray must GO! She is a full of crap because she thinks she knows how to handle all deaf kids who have a lot of dysfunctional families. Mary Murray graduated with speech therapy and audiologist. I cant understand why the administration hired her to be a dean of houseparents. She trained houseparents really terrible. PLUS few hearing houseparents CANT sign at all and keep them for 20 years. I m sorry for two male students went through hell with those hearing people who in control the system at VSDB. I have seen everything and I visited and nothing changed since 1980!

Hedy, so there is a Dean that you and other students find depicable which makes you sympathetic to the two teens. But do you realize they were planning to kill other staff and students?
I am sorry, but murder or physical injury is not a justified offense in this case. Do you think it is?
These teens can file formal complaints against that Dean if she is so bad. In fact, why don’t you help organize a petition along with the other alumni and students, if you feel the dean is doing a lousy job? This is a sincere question.

Is it possible two students who get expelled were bullying by the peers or even teachers? It is very sad … It is the same thing for some DVTV vloggers who bully RR until he revenges back to them. I never like RR and his behaviors but I simply ignore him. Let him go.

First of all, I prefer not to use my real name to prevent my Deaf child to get more punishment and more suffer from that Deaf school in my home state!
My Deaf child got so FED UP with that Deaf school for adding more More MORE STRICTER rules and no more fun at all in the dorm!!! My Deaf child is currently serious transfer to mainstream high school in next fall because my Deaf child got more FED UP with some teachers and RAs (including both hearing and Deaf) took advantage of my Deaf child’s good behavior and good in patience which it is totally UNFAIR for my Deaf child act so good in patience for NOTHING!!! I decided to respect my Deaf child to transfer out of Deaf school for good because I cannot stand to see my Deaf child to suffer more..
It is really sad to see some Deaf schools not have a “honor” floor in the dorm just like Indiana School for the Deaf and MSSD, only for students who are on honor roll, good behavior, etc… ISD and MSSD have the “honor” floor (for high school only.) It has LESS rules, because the students who qualify for the “honor” floor show a lot of responsibilities and work hard and maintain A’s and B’s.
