Blog/Vlog Conference At Gallaudet
The conference today is a ground-breaking event, first of its kind. Different perspectives from bloggers and vloggers of diverse backgrounds will raise our awareness of the new relationship between Gallaudet and the deaf writers and artists of the internet. Mine was to cover the roles of the two groups as a combination of media and ‘watchdog’ and how this symbiotic relationship will benefit Gallaudet in the future.
It’s with the deepest regret that I have to miss the presentation. I was looking forward to it, hearing what the other presenters have to share, and meeting them and the readers.  Unfortunately I am too ill to give a presentation.
Even though I will not be there in person, I’ll be with them in spirit while I watch their presentations on the CCI webpage. http://ccigally.info/. I hope for those who also won’t be there in person, that you watch, too.
I’m excited about the potential of bloggers and vloggers and how we can strengthen Gallaudet and enrich the Deaf community nation-wide.
Update: I checked twice and so far there is no webcast set up there, even though the conference started fifteen minutes ago.
Update II: It is up and running.

When will it start?
I’m still staring at the message:
“The conference will begin shortly…”
I thought it was going to be at NIGHT!
I had planned on doing some errands – we need food in the house!!
DANG!

Really? Have you signed off and on? On this side, the webcasting of the first panel went very smoothly.
Night.. perhaps you were thinking of the awards banquet starting at 7 PM.

Guess I’m talking to myself today!!
That was really wonderful!!
Amy did great with her presentation, especially with powerpoint!!! Nice!!!
Ahh, now I know what Mr. Sandbox looks like!! *evil grin*
And Chris Huer!! Now he seems more real to me!!
*hands waving* to everyone!
That took some nerves to stand up in front of… er… how many people??
I’d faint!
February 3rd, 2007 at 10:44 am
But you know what kind of freaked me out… that there were more lurkers out there.
I agree with the Provost, get lurkers more involved!!
So I can “hide” more!! I get sick of “seeing” myself!
*waves at lurkers*
That’s right… just click on the “post”… right there!!
Just like that – click “Submit Comment”!

Lunch break!
Wow, I really enjoyed that!
How many of you found yourself waving hands??
I didn’t even realize it myself until I saw the reflection on the laptop!
Unfortunately, I have to run out the door, but they will achieve this for later!

Halo MZ,
I am very sorry to learn that you are very ill today. I hope you are getting better.
You were sorely missed at the conference. I had been trying in vain to log in until 10:15.
That means that I had missed
from 9 to 10:35. I was disappointed that Ella Mae Lentz was not invited as one of the panelists. During the question-answer sesssion, she talked for less than two minutes at the conference.
I hope that Jill Bradbury will
show the movie again tinight or tomorrow so I would watch
the missing part.
Oh, please allow me to congratulate you for the Best Advocacy Blog. Please take good care of yourself. Drink plenty of green tea and chicken noodle soup and stay warm (it is freezing tmorrow).

Just learned about this. Rats, I missed it last saturday.
MZ – so sorry to hear you were not feeling well. Hope you are feeling much better by now.
Yea, to the blogger #13′s comment congratulating you for winning one of the awards. I knew you would win at least one of these awards from reading your blog.
Take care and stay warm. Snow storm is heading our way.

[...] Sadly, Elizabeth of Mishka Zena couldn’t be present, and several of us mentioned her at lunch, and then thought of her again during the afternoon/evening when it became apparent she wasn’t going to be with us. Elizabeth, you were missed, and we hope the next time there is such a gathering, that you’ll be present! She did post about the conference though, at Mishka Zena. [...]
