2006: Best Blogs of Mishka Zena
I wore many different hats as a blogger…doing investigative reporting, news reporting, commentaries and analyses, including frequent updates on Unity for Gallaudet Protest.
I started listing my best blog posts, but was promptly bogged down by sheer number of posts. I’ve made over 700 posts during the protest last fall. Some days during the protest, I’ve entered ten posts or more. This was the first time I had the opportunity to review my blogs and was surprised to see how popular some posts were. I listed the most popular posts as well as others to give you a better idea of what my blog covered: not just the Gallaudet Protest, but also the Gallaudet Administration and BoT. Also covered were different issues facing the Deaf Community, such as the Bahl police brutality incident, the Miss School for the Deaf controversy, the Canadian Diamond Trade issue, Daphne Wright, and the Oregon School for the Deaf case. I estimated that at year’s end, I’d accumulated nearly half a million hits, much to my astonishment. The most memorable part was the live reporting of arrests on Black Friday. With the exception of the attacks and threats by the Pro Fernandes fans, overall this has been a positive experience for me as a novice blogger who started last summer. I am just glad that we have Davila as Interim President, and I look forward to Gallaudet getting back on its feet and moving forward.

I wanted to say that even though I am not in the area of Politic or Educational but I do always enjoy reading your blog! it help me to be aware of what’s happening out there second it’s give me an idea what kind of topic, trends that everyone are talking about, it give me better idea for characters development and dialogue that will support concept of my future TV/films. Again I have always admire your continuity informational that will ensure our deaf awareness around the world. Once again hat’s off to you!

Oh great, MZ – there were blogs I wasn’t aware of!!
Now I got a lot of reading to catch up with…
eek..I’m not enjoying this voting thing because there are 18 categories and I don’t visit too many… even the ones I enjoyed, I forgot where they were at!
Anyway… it’s nice to look back at things you’ve done, it does amaze you, eh?

I very highly commend Elizabeth Gillespie for her careful research the way a professional researcher does. Not only that but I also very highly commend her for her intelligent and origidnal comments as well as analyses. She is not comme un perroquet. She is a true scholar!

All I know is… Capisce?!! When I get yelled at by my mother’s ex-husband who came to USA from Italy.
Unfortunately, he knew what flipping on the chin with a hand meant. Always got in trouble for that.
