I think some of the questions were slightly unrealistic-- people are expecting way too much from someone who is an interim president, and there are areas he has no control over, or cannot do anything about yet, or may only be able to get the process started, and may not be there to see through to completion. Still, I thought his responses were very good, and so far indicate he will do a good job in the 18-24 months that he has. I thought he did well. He does not come off as a know-it-all person going, "Yeah, I know how to solve everything - this and that..." but instead said, "I will look into this and address the issue..." and "We'll work on this together"... and I thought his answer on the BoT/reprisals was great - because now it makes Jordan look even worse with his power trip. And I believe he will look into issues AND address them. He's keeping his mind open to things. Whoever said he was too old for this job... ha! ;) Go, Davila, Go! When he has completed his 18-month to 2-year term as the interim president, I hope he will be begged by the new president to serve on the Board of Trustees, and I hope Dr. Davila will eagerly accepted. In the meantime, I'm concerned that Holmes, the BoT Chair, seems to be clueless as to who has the authority to decide what to do about the reprisals. Perhaps Holmes will find the courage to eliminate them once IJK is out of the picture. Dr. Davila is indeed a remarkable man.
