I would guess that the BOT members are a mix of people who are apathetic and people who are very interested in hearing from the community. A few (I believe–maybe someone here knows more detail) don’t even show up to many meetings; I would guess maybe those individuals don’t really read emails from the community either. But I’ve heard reports that some BOT members were very assertive in coming to campus during the protests to hear a wide spectrum of perspectives from the community–I would guess that at least some of those individuals probably do read their correspondence to the extent that they are able. (Do remember that most have other lives that compete for their attention; and also remember that during the protests, I’m sure at least hundreds and maybe thousands of people sent them letters within an extremely short period of time. Even the most committed people might have been unable to read all of them.)

All this is just my own speculation. Make of it what you will.

I don’t think BoT are reading the blogs. I don’t even know if they bother to read e mails we send to them. I hope so because they need to hear from Gallaudet Community.

(By the way, the report
about the postponement of
accredition for Gallaudet
is now spreading like a fire,
from the newspapers to TV
networks in less than 24 hours.)

Protesters who were
assaulted could, if they
so desire, file a lawsuit
against Jordan. (The four
teachers at NWC filed a
$10 million lawsuit against
Gallaudet and its English Department in May 1996 and
won! However, the four
teachers cannot tell us
because of a gag order.)

you are wonderful. Do the Board memberrs read the blogs? Do they know our fighting for amnesty of protesters? I have not heard from BOT. Is that what Irving want? Punish them for destroy his legacy? Thats one reason I want Irving out of the picture. BOTs may feel comfortable to support the amnesty and start the healing process. Without amnesty, no healing process for sure. I heard that the morale of Gally is very very low. Is that true???
