You got it right. Carol Padden is married to Tom Humphries and has been with him for a long time. I see nothing wrong with Roz Rosen
As I understand it her credentials are very very good.Thats correct that many prominent deaf professionals will support Dr Davila

Dr Steve Weiner will not be able to apply for the permante position if he gets appointed as the temp. president- that’s in the Bot announcemnt. As I recalled:he was a finalsit for the President in May. If he still wants the job- he should apply for it whenever they annouce it. The others are full time faculty-or close to it- and I don’t believe they will leave thier jobs for a temporay position.

True ASL…True immerged in the Deaf community…cherish values of Deaf culture…How about appoint Donalda Ammons, MJ, Lynn Jacowbicz, Steve Weiner, Joey Baer, Raymond Merritt, Jeff Lewis…. to be interim prez or will they run to be the next President of Gallaudet University?

may I ask: aside from that acusation made by ASD and gallaudet alumni that Dr. davili will turn galaudet into Total Comm.(a thought that really does not have any basis) what is wrong with Dr. Davila? What Gallaudet needs right now is not someone who promote prue Deaf culture and ASL…What we need now is a good administartor…someone who can begin the healing process to Congress and others and us. The job is only for (at the most) 18 months. This will give us alot of time to choose a person who will be one for us…a true deaf person…one who shares the same values and philosophy. Right now, though, we need some one like Dr. Davila. I am even hearing that other persons ( well-known deaf perosns)are ready to support Dr. Davila if he is nonminated.

I don’t know…but I think we should be grateful if he agrees to be the intierm president.

Please consider this: Merv Garreston, a truely american deaf icon, is supporting Dr. Davila. That should speak volumes.

Thank you for explaining. I understand now.

I am not surprised about Dr COrson who was fired at ASD.

I would say there are three ppl good leadership that I know of. They are Dr Glenn Anderson, Dr Alan Hurtwitz, and Dr Stephen Weiner.

However, they will not be official becoming premanent president, but one of them will be become an interim president. It will be difficulty to be selected to become permanent president from outside of the U.S. in the future. We have to wait and see who will be permanent president for Gallaudet Univ. next year, in my opinion. However, I may be wrong! Who knows.
